As Spring is one of my two favorite seasons I was reviewing some of the pregnancy photography sessions I have taken in early Spring when the Forsythia blooms so bright and I came across this pregnancy photography session I took in Westchester NY. It was like a trip down memory lane for me. Not many know of my evolution as a photographer but I was not drawn to becoming a pregnancy and child photography through my children though I have three children who I adore with all my heart and who are occasionally photographed with something other than my iphone (yes I am like that old saying “The cobbler’s children go unshod.”). I began photography long ago in the cave man days of traditional darkroom photography and loved my medium format Hasselblad (I probably still would love my Hasselblad if it didn’t cost $25,000 for a digital one!). I stuck with my darkroom photography when I began a pregnancy photography business back in 2009 and I stuck with it for a couple of years while the digital camera I had bought gathered dust in my closet. But in 2011 I decided it was time to change gears and I picked up that good but out of date digital camera and began shooting. I never looked back and this wonderful photo session was actually with that camera and one of my first digital shoots! So thank you D for the wonderful pregnancy photo shoot – it was amazing – and I hope the session carries as many extraordinary memories for you as it does for me :)
